Vertigo (Dizziness)
A sensation of spinning of the environment or self; most commonly caused by inner ear balance disorders.
BPPV, Meniere's disease and vestibular neuritis are among the most common causes of peripheral vertigo. Sudden-onset, brief episodes triggered by head movement suggest BPPV.
The Epley manoeuvre repositions displaced canal particles with high success in BPPV. Central vertigo causes (brainstem or cerebellar pathology) must be excluded with imaging.
