Osteotomy
Controlled bone cuts in rhinoplasty to reposition the nasal bones into a new alignment.
Osteotomy is used to close an open roof after dorsal hump reduction, narrow a wide bony base or straighten a crooked nose. Types include lateral, medial and transverse osteotomies.
Piezo-ultrasonic instruments provide more precise cuts and less tissue damage than traditional osteotomes. Correct osteotomy preserves bony stability during healing.
