VNG Components and Interpretation
In caloric testing, canal paresis and directional preponderance are interpreted according to laboratory norms. Test Reliability

When Should VNG Be Done?

A comprehensive VNG battery should be planned in unexplained chronic imbalance, recurrent vertigo attacks and fall history.
Caloric testing should be performed to determine functional reserve before and after intratympanic gentamicin application. In suspected acoustic neuroma, central components and ABR should be evaluated together.
